“But what if I’m wrong and I get left behind?”
Healing from an evangelical upbringing has many twists and turns.
It can leave you feeling stuck in a cycle of anxiety and fear around the Rapture, End Times dogma and wondering if you’re wrong about it all.
Evangelical churches have convinced and persuaded people to think the rapture is REAL and BIBLICAL when it is NOT.
Before deconstructing from the rapture doctrine,
I felt like I needed to do everything perfectly,
just in case.
I was terrified of waking up to find my house empty, piles of clothes the only sign that the rapture had happened and I’d missed it.
The amount of times I would shakily call out my parents names if I couldn’t find them was traumatising.
The prayers of repentance for any perceived sin (such as saying “oh my God”)…
because the rapture could happen TODAY
Answering my 5th altar call that year, because
I had to be sure I was right with Jesus…
18 years ago, I didn’t have a clue about religious deconstruction. I was newly kicked out of my lifelong Pentecostal mega church and my spiritual world was full of fear and unanswered questions.
I desperately desired the answers to those lingering fears swirling around in my head.
☹️Was it wrong to not go to church?
😵Will I really be left behind?
😬 Is there truth in what I was taught?
I was too hurt, too traumatised and too overwhelmed to know where to start in finding those answers.
Somewhere deep inside me, I knew something wasn’t right.
There were other people, out there in the world, living a care-free life free from fear.
People who didn’t fear the rapture.
People who had never even heard of the anti-christ!
and I wanted that freedom for myself.
And so I believe Spirit (The Universe, or whatever you want to call it) heard my hearts desires and set me on a winding path of discovery.
I’m really freaking passionate about helping others create the same kind of freedom for themselves by deep diving into the core of the fear, and pulling it apart with critical thinking, scientific reasoning, scholarly experts and a dash of unhinged humour.
I’m so grateful for the journey I’ve been on and the other amazingly wise folk who have taught me what is possible. I’ve learned so much, and I’m happy to pay it forward.
I’m delighted to invite you to step into this world with me, where we can let go of the fear of the Rapture doctrine, release the questions of being left behind and heal from the underlying rapture anxiety that can plague our lives both consciously and sub-consciously.

What’ Are People Saying?
One of our lovely customers and repeat clients emailed this gloriously detailed review of the Rapture class:
”I have followed Hana at Suburban Witchery for years, but her “Ridiculous Rapture Rhetoric” course undeniably solidifies her as both a spiritual guide and teacher.
Growing up in a toxic Pentecostal Assemblies of God community, it was easy for me to understand Hana’s passion to pursue the truth concerning the rapture. Hana’s dedication is evident through cited credentials in every facet of her extensive research; she is mindful of keeping to the facts. The course’s goal is not to persuade, but to present. Hana does a phenomenal job listing and outlining expectations of the course. Everything is presented clearly, concisely, and professionally in her emails, table of contents, videos, and follow up material. Despite being very selective about recording, I still ended with 7 pages of notes.
Some life-changing findings for me included learning:
- “Religious trauma syndrome” is very real.
-The word “rapture” is never listed in the Bible and is not equivalent to the Apocalypse.
-Rapture rhetoric began in the year 1830.
- “Cult jumping” is a dangerous, often accidental phenomenon.
Above all, it is vital to ask:
-Are you being taught to be afraid?
-Who is gaining from my fear?
-What behavior does this cause?
-To whom is my subservience advantageous?
The information from this course sincerely changed my spiritual walk. I could not be more appreciative of Hana’s willingness to share her findings despite potentially facing harsh criticism. May she continue to strengthen others through her own vulnerability and desire for peace.” - Kate
